Kevin was a Cub Scout and became an Eagle Scout Award-winning Scout. He was proud of his completed project, a cement walkway that ran from the parking lot to the front door of his church, Christ Lutheran. He became interested in the National Boy Scout Jamboree in Virginia. Kevin is a confirmed Lutheran Christian, and served on the Scholarship Committee as a senior.

Kevin attended Yakima Valley College, earning an associate's degree in firefighting science and emergency medicine. He was a volunteer with the West Valley Fire Department and worked on AMR Ambulance.

He attended the University of Washington and was accepted into the Air Force ROTC program. He majored in German studies and minored in aerospace studies. With no previous football experience, he continued on the UW Husky football team as a safety. Unfortunately, he never played due to injuries sustained in practice. He became the second lieutenant to receive the graduate award in December 2011.

He completed his flight training and earned a Top Gun award. He's an RPA, or drone pilot, at Creech Air Force Base near Las Vegas, nicknamed "The Flash." He was promoted to the rank of captain and decorated with many decorations. Kevin will be remembered as a loving son, brother and uncle; a loyal, generous and loving friend; a true servant of his country and country.
