Ellington Field Deers Office - Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base is home to the Texas Air National Guard's 147th Airlift Wing. It is also home to the five branches of the DoD: Army, Navy, Marine Reserves, Army and Air National Guard, and Coast Guard Department of Homeland Security.
Ellington Field JRB was built in 1917 as an Army airfield. It is named after Army pilot Lieutenant Eric Lamar Ellington, who died in a plane crash in San Diego, California four years ago.

The Texas National Guard's 147th Expeditionary Force serves as the EFJRB's host force due to the facility's air focus and its position as the primary recipient of Texas ANG weapons throughout much of the base's history. However, the Army Reserve's 75th Training Command, led by a major general, is the best military command within the facility, and the Navy has the largest number of reservists.
